MONROE, N.C. — American Kart Racing Association (AKRA) will be increasing the organization’s Master and Associate Membership prices beginning March 1, 2023.
AKRA’s current $45 Master membership cost, which has been in place for over a decade, will continue through February. On March 1, the price will increase to $65 per year.
The AKRA Junior Associate membership fee will increase from $15 to $20 at the same time. A Junior Associate membership must be accompanied by a Master membership until the junior turns 18 years old.
The updated fees continue to keep AKRA’s membership at a lower price than most other karting organizations. The increase comes in an attempt to offset rising costs of doing business, as well as an effort to continue AKRA’s top level track insurance programs at similar pricing for 2023, thus not raising pit pass prices on tracks, host clubs and racers.
Those wishing to purchase or renew a membership at the current $45 rate should do so ASAP via US mail and must have the completed membership form and payment postmarked to AKRA by Feb. 28, 2023. Any new or renewing membership mailed on March 1 or after should include payment for the updated prices; check or credit cards are accepted.
These prices are for mail-in memberships. A $10 convenience fee will be added to all at-track renewals.
