TIFTON, Ga. — A busy 2025 season of AKRA-sanctioned road racing across the United States is set to begin. While our Hoosier Kartsport National Road Racing Series opens May 16-18 at NCCAR, we shouldn’t forget about a couple of Regional programs — Woodbridge Kart Club and Midwest Karting Association — that support our national series.
Woodbridge Kart Club (WKC) is set to kick off their points series April 11-13 at their home track, Summit Point Motorsports Park in the panhandle of West Virginia. While WKC has raced at Summit Point for decades, this event is brand new to their club and road race karting. For the first time ever, the Summit’s Jefferson Circuit will host kart racing.
Located outside Summit’s Main Circuit Turns 2-3, the Jefferson Circuit is 14 turns and ~1.6 miles, features a pair of 1400’ straightaways, and a number of sweeping high-speed corners paired with multiple tighter, lower-speed corners and elevation change.
While the Jefferson event does not count toward AKRA points, it is AKRA-sanctioned and supported, and we encourage teams to give this new track a try, and help get WKC’s and AKRA’s 2025 season off to a strong start. A full day of Friday practice is offered before morning practice and racing Saturday and Sunday.

The Midwest Karting Association has two AKRA Regionals scheduled this year at the fast 1.8-mile Lake Afton Park in Goddard, Kansas. The first is coming up fast — this May 3-4 — and it features a full slate of classes for 2-cycle and 4-cycle CIK karts and traditional enduro bodywork karts. The event marks MKA’s 40th Anniversary.
MKA will hold a second road race at Lake Afton September 6-7.
