We’re excited to be kicking off the 2021 AKRA National Road Racing Series at two of the best road courses in the East – Summit Point Motorsports Park in West Virginia and the famed Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Pre-registration is currently available for these first two races of the series, which are both looking to be very well-attended and competitive events after race and practice entries have poured in during the early stages of pre-registration.
Summit Point will open the new season with a big two-day show at the track’s fast 2.0-mile Main Course on May 22-23. In addition to highly competitive classes for laydown-enduros, sprint-enduros, vintage karts, TaG, Shifter and Briggs LO206 CIK-style karts, the Animal Nationals will take place for Briggs Animal sprint-enduro racers, which is expected to draw around 50 entrants from all over the country competing for a $4,000 purse and other prizes.
AKRA is proud to be partnered with Woodbridge Kart Club for this event and it marks the first time the WKC-hosted spring race at Summit’s Main Course is an AKRA national. Early pre-entry numbers have been stout and a large crowd is expected for this race.

The second race of the 2021 series will be the annual June 18-20 Dart Kart Club-hosted national at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. The Dart Kart Club has promoted national road races at Mid-Ohio for many years and the last several years have seen some of the best entry counts in a long time. The 2021 version of this marquee event in road race karting is expected to be another huge show with the potential for well over 600 race entries.
Similar to Summit Point, nearly every road race class will be well-represented with racers from all over the country. Typically, CIK shifter kart and Yamaha and other 2-cycle laydown-enduro classes are very large draws at Mid-Ohio, in addition to many other divisions including TaG, SuperKarts, Briggs, Piston Port Sprint and more.
